# Channels and limits

> Tenure's database is in every run; each job board carries its own maximum, capped by what your account admin allows.

## Tenure's database

Every run searches Tenure's database of clinicians. There is no number to set: Tenure sizes the pool from your role, and if it matches more people than one pass works through, you decide whether to narrow the role or run it in batches. ## Job boards

Each board you have connected appears in the **Where** step, switched on. For each board there is a field for the most people to contact on that board this run.

Leave it blank and the board uses the ceiling your account admin set on the connection, or 100 if there is none. Type a number to use fewer. A number above the admin's ceiling is refused when you start, with the limit shown.

## The admin's ceiling

An account admin sets **Maximum contacts per run** on each job board connection under **Settings → Job boards**. It caps every run on that board, whoever starts it, so a board's message allowance is never spent by one seat. See [Connecting a job board](/documentation/job-boards/connect-a-board).

## Daily pace

Tenure sets the number of messages a day per board from what works without tripping the boards' own limits. You do not choose it, and a run never bursts. A run's target is spread over as many days as it needs.

## Who is never contacted

On every channel, a run skips anyone on your do-not-contact list, anyone already in your contact pool (applied or replied interested), and anyone messaged in the last 7 days.
