# Your first run in five minutes

> A quick start, from a role title to people being contacted on Tenure's database and your job boards.

Everything begins on the **AI sourcing** page. The "Start a run" panel is the whole flow; **Runs**, beside it, lists every run on the account.

## 1. The role

Give the role a title the way a candidate would search for it: "Night Hospitalist", "Wound Care Nurse Practitioner". Add the profession and specialty, the city or cities, and the details that sell it: pay, schedule, call, setting, requirements.

If you have a job description, paste it or drop the file in. Tenure reads it and fills these fields for you. See [Using a job description](/documentation/sourcing/job-descriptions).

## 2. Where

Tenure's database is part of every run. Each job board you have connected is on too. Switch one off, or give it its own maximum for this run. See [Channels and limits](/documentation/sourcing/channels-and-limits).

## 3. The message

Write the message each person receives, or click **Generate with AI** and Tenure writes the first draft from the role. **Preview on each channel** shows exactly how it will read on each board. See [Writing the message](/documentation/sourcing/messages).

## 4. Start

Click **Start sourcing**. Tenure's database is searched at once and each board pass is requested. You are notified as people reply, and the run page shows every channel side by side.

If Tenure's database matches more people than one pass works through, nothing starts yet: you narrow the role or run it in batches. See [Large pools and batches](/documentation/sourcing/large-pools-and-batches).
